Crossplay is planned, but do not treat it as a verified live PC-to-console feature in the October 17, 2026 release snapshot. Steam PC is the confirmed released version; PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 ports are planned for 2027. The announced crossplay intention is useful for future expectations, but it does not make a console preview listing playable today.
For a group playing now, organize around the available Steam version and its online co-op. It supports up to four players in total: you and three friends.
What the current platform picture means
| Platform or feature | Confirmed position for this release snapshot |
|---|---|
| Steam PC | Released October 14, 2026 |
| Steam Deck | Supported; Steam lists the game as Verified |
| PlayStation 5 | Console port planned for 2027 |
| Xbox Series X|S | Console port planned for 2027 |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Console port planned for 2027 |
| Crossplay | Announced plan; a live console-to-Steam session is not established here |
| Local co-op | Not available under the announced feature plan |
Store pages can appear before release. An Xbox listing with cross-platform co-op or Play Anywhere labels describes the product listing; it does not by itself establish that friends can already launch the console port and join a Steam lobby.

Steam Deck does not require a separate console release
Steam Deck support belongs to the existing PC release picture. The developer described Deck support through Proton rather than a native Linux edition. Do not place Steam Deck in the same waiting category as the announced 2027 console ports.
For a current session, check that everyone has access to the released game and an updated installation. A controller type is also separate from a platform: using a PlayStation controller on PC does not turn that installation into the PlayStation 5 version.
Plan for individual progress in co-op
The game supports solo exploration and online groups of up to four. Progress is tracked per player and transfers between single-player and multiplayer. Players can help one another reach an objective, but every player still needs to reach their own checkpoints.
This matters when a group is collecting vehicle rewards or finishing a trail together. A successful session connection is only the start; each player must complete the relevant actions on their own progress.
Avoid buying on an assumption about future compatibility
If cross-platform play is essential to your group, confirm the released platforms and supported combinations when the console versions actually arrive. The current information does not establish an exact console launch date, a tested list of platform pairs, cross-save behavior across stores, or account-linking requirements.
Crossplay and cross-save are separate features. A plan to let players join the same session does not automatically promise that a save or purchase carries between every platform. Make the present session plan around the released Steam game, and revisit platform compatibility when a release announcement supplies the missing details.
