Asgard Mountain Map

Quick Answer

Asgard Mountain is Canada’s third area, entered from Gimli Ridge. Track five trails, two recoveries, fifteen crates, nine cabins and eight scenic points. The overview does not provide exact marker coordinates.

Asgard Mountain is the third area of The Valhallas in Canada. Enter through the Tunnel to Asgard Mountain from Gimli Ridge. The area contains five Challenge Trails, two Item Recoveries, fifteen crates, nine cabins, eight scenic points, one Mechanic, and a return portal to Gimli Ridge.

Use this page as an area map and a named-objective checklist. The overview image provides terrain context; the tables identify what to look for. They do not establish exact marker coordinates or a tested driving line between objectives.

Orient yourself before collecting

Asgard Mountain covers a 4 × 4 km area. It is one part of Canada rather than a separate region. Keep the distinction between the region map and this area map in mind when searching for an objective: an icon elsewhere in The Valhallas may belong to Emerald Lake or Gimli Ridge.

The map image is an orientation aid, not a promise that every item is currently visible. In particular, possible meteorite landing sites and wildlife spawn positions are not the same thing as guaranteed objects or animals waiting at each point.

Start by identifying your current cabin or entry portal. Next, choose one nearby objective category. Looking for trails, crates, animals, and meteorites simultaneously can make it harder to tell what is still missing at the end of a drive.

The exact current number of meteorite landing sites in Asgard Mountain is not confirmed here. The October 16 update adjusted meteorite spawning, but it does not establish a replacement total. Search for an active fall rather than treating every possible landing site as a meteorite waiting to be collected.

Five Challenge Trails and their rewards

Challenge TrailListed PebblesAdditional reward
Midgar Ascent40The Timberbox
Asulkan Lake Highline40The Grand Woodman
Lower Midgar Trail25Das Mammoth
Wakefield Switchback Climb25Bald Eagle Horn
Blanshard Ridge Trail25The Bull v1

Four of the five trails award a vehicle. Wakefield Switchback Climb instead lists the Bald Eagle Horn, so clearing every vehicle reward alone does not finish the area's trail checklist.

Midgar Ascent and Lower Midgar Trail are separate objectives. If your target is Das Mammoth, choose Lower Midgar Trail; The Timberbox belongs to Midgar Ascent. Similar names are a reason to check the full trail name before starting a long approach.

In multiplayer, each player must reach the checkpoints themselves. A friend finishing a trail is not evidence that your own trail entry is complete. Check your progress before marking a vehicle or trail off the list.

Two Item Recoveries

RecoveryListed PebblesAdditional reward
Midgar Way Recovery25Skis & Snowboards; Skis & Snowboards (Bed)
Upland Carmanah Recovery25Hot Dog

Each recovery also has an end point. Finding the starting marker does not establish that you have delivered the objective to its destination. Track the start and completion separately if you are using a personal checklist.

The October 16 update fixed repeated Recovery Mission and Challenge Trail completions failing to award Pebbles. A repeat run can now be useful for currency, but repeat rewards and first-time area completion remain different tasks.

Nine cabins to discover

  • Crossroads Shelter
  • Eagle Perch Cabin
  • Gods’ Rest
  • Mjoll Basin Lodge
  • Ridgeline Rest
  • Rock Cradle Cabin
  • Shaughnessy Cabin
  • Similkameen Lodge
  • Twin Pools Cabin

A discovered cabin can be selected from the map as a respawn point. These are useful anchors for a collection sweep: return to a known location and plan the next group of objectives from there.

Do not confuse the cabin list with the scenic-point list. Rock Cradle Cabin and Rock Cradle Weather Station are different named targets, and finding one is not a substitute for checking the other.

Eight scenic points

  • Bighorn Lake
  • Eaglewing Ridge
  • Headless Valley
  • Heimdall Eye
  • Jormungandr’s Coil
  • Niflhel Bath
  • Pemberton Point
  • Rock Cradle Weather Station

Each listed scenic point awards 15 Pebbles. Use their names to reconcile missing discoveries instead of assuming that driving near a visually impressive location counts automatically.

The map provides names and terrain, but this checklist does not assign a compass bearing or exact route to a viewpoint. Use the in-game position and nearby discovered landmarks to plan the approach you can actually drive.

Fifteen crate rewards to check

The area's crate list includes Beacon Bar - Red & Blue, Bear Plushie, Bull Bar Type 2 - Black, Elk Horn, Festive Tree, Frying Pan, Ice Picks, Low Bull Bar, Ram Skull, Ropes, Side Festive Lights, Side Steps - Silver, Skid Plate - Black, Square Lights, and Traction Boards.

Each crate lists 5 Pebbles along with its cosmetic reward. Some rewards have additional placement variants, including Festive Tree (Bed) and Ropes (Rear bumper). Those variants do not turn a single crate into two separate location entries.

If you are missing one crate, compare its cosmetic reward with your remaining checklist. Do not use the names above as invented coordinates: they identify the reward associated with a crate, not its precise place on a ridge or beside a road.

Wildlife to check while exploring

Listed search targets include Beaver, Mountain Goat, Common Raven, Elk, Bald Eagle, Red Fox, Grizzly Bear, Gray Wolf, Kokanee Salmon, and Bighorn Sheep. This is a candidate checklist, not a verified current species total or a guarantee that every entry is available during one visit.

Use the Safari Camera to register wildlife. Center the subject, keep a valid distance, and avoid obstructions. Treat a spawn position as a place to look rather than a guaranteed encounter; this page does not assign an unverified time or weather requirement to a species.

For a final area sweep, compare the five trails, two recoveries, nine cabins, eight scenic points, and fifteen crates with your own completed entries. Check wildlife in the compendium separately. This lets you identify the missing category before driving another full loop around the mountain.
