The Over the Hill Das Mammoth location is tied to Lower Midgar Trail in Asgard Mountain. Complete that Challenge Trail to unlock the vehicle. Asgard Mountain is the third area of The Valhallas in Canada, reached through the Tunnel to Asgard Mountain portal in Gimli Ridge.
Das Mammoth is a trail reward, so looking for an abandoned truck is not the confirmed unlock method. Exact trail coordinates and a checkpoint-by-checkpoint driving route are not established here.

Area orientation only; this is not an exact objective or wildlife pin.
Use the exact area and trail names together. Lower Midgar Trail and Midgar Ascent are separate trails in the same area. Midgar Ascent rewards The Timberbox; it is not an alternative name for the Mammoth objective.
The map also contains a Midgar Way Recovery. That is an item recovery, not the Challenge Trail that unlocks Das Mammoth. Matching only the word “Midgar” is therefore insufficient when choosing your destination.
Complete Lower Midgar Trail
Start the named trail and follow its checkpoint objective. Reaching the area or visiting a nearby scenic point does not replace completing the trail. No mandatory starting vehicle, minimum engine tier or completion time is confirmed on this page.
In cooperative play, every player must reach the relevant checkpoint personally. A friend can help you overcome an obstacle, but their checkpoint completion does not automatically complete yours. Keep that distinction in mind if the group is running the unlock together.
If you become stuck on the approach, use the normal recovery options. Aim the camera at an appropriate winch target, choose a vehicle attachment point and attach to the object. Low Range is useful for rough terrain and slopes. If tools cannot resolve the situation, a discovered cabin provides a respawn fallback.
These are general recovery options, not a claimed walkthrough of Lower Midgar Trail. The specific obstacles, ideal line and any shortcut remain unverified here.
Identify Das Mammoth after unlocking

Das Mammoth is identified as a German work truck with large tires and an expedition role. Its listed mass is 3,200 kg and it has two forward gears. The vehicle is described as a versatile, slow-crawling work machine.
The engine tiers distinguish the stock figure from the upgraded figure. Tier 1 lists 200 Nm peak torque, Tier 2 lists 227 Nm and Tier 3 lists 256 Nm. A summary showing 256 Nm should not be read as the unupgraded engine value.
| Vehicle detail | Listed value |
|---|---|
| Mass | 3,200 kg |
| Forward gears | 2 |
| Cargo bed | Yes |
| Winch pull | 51,000 N |
| Listed speed limit, stock / Engine Stage 3 | 19.8 / 27 km/h |
| Wheel radius | 0.52 m |
| Suspension travel | 70 cm |
| High-range ratio | 8 |
| Low-range ratio | 20 |
These figures help identify the reward and understand the listed configuration. The speed limits are configuration values, not measured speeds on a particular trail. They do not establish that Das Mammoth is the fastest unlock or the best vehicle for every route. This location guide does not turn its work-truck description into a universal vehicle ranking.
Separate unlocking from upgrading
Das Mammoth is unlocked by completing the trail. Upgrades are a later choice using Pebbles. Listed options include Engine, Protection, Suspension, Tires, Tool slots, Water Resistance and Winch range.
The Engine, Protection, Suspension, Tires and Water Resistance paths list a 25-Pebble second stage and a 50-Pebble third stage. Tool slots have listed 25, 50 and 75-Pebble entries. Winch stages 2, 3 and 4 list 25, 50 and 75 Pebbles and increase range.
None of those prices is the unlock condition. Do not postpone the trail because you think you must first buy the vehicle or fund every upgrade. There is also no confirmed minimum upgrade budget for completing Lower Midgar Trail here.
Check the correct result
After completing the trail, check for Das Mammoth rather than a different Asgard Mountain reward. Lower Midgar Trail is the required name; Midgar Ascent, Asulkan Lake Highline and Blanshard Ridge Trail reward other vehicles.
If you only reached a checkpoint by following another player, remember that your own objective progress is individual. If you are still searching for the entrance, this page supplies the correct area and trail but does not supply an exact pin. A terrain image should not be interpreted as a marked entrance or a tested driving line.
