Over the Hill Crate Checklist

Quick Answer

There are 86 crates across five areas. This checklist names 65 rewards in Emerald Lake, Gimli Ridge, Asgard Mountain, and Aurès Mountains; exact crate coordinates remain unverified.

Over the Hill has 86 crates across five areas. Emerald Lake has 18, Gimli Ridge 16, Asgard Mountain 15, Tassili n'Ajjer Desert 21, and Aurès Mountains 16. Each crate opens once and gives five Pebbles plus a cosmetic reward.

This regional checklist names 65 crate rewards across Emerald Lake, Gimli Ridge, Asgard Mountain, and Aurès Mountains. The 21 individual Tassili n'Ajjer Desert rewards are not listed here. Individual coordinates for all 86 crates are not verified here, so it does not claim to be a complete turn-by-turn location walkthrough.

Use the area count to narrow a missing-crate search before crossing to another map. Finishing Canada's three areas does not finish Algeria, and the larger desert checklist has 21 crates rather than the 16 found in the other Algerian area.

A second installation variant does not mean a second crate. For example, Camping Gear, Festive Lights, and Surfboards each come from one Emerald Lake crate even though each row also gives another mounting version. Count opened crates rather than cosmetic entries when checking the area total.

All 16 listed crates give five Pebbles. Expedition Gear and Fishing Boat also award the named pickup-bed variant.

All four reward lists group crates by their actual area. The illustrations identify rewards, not the crate's position. A cosmetic icon cannot tell you which road to follow or where to turn off; use it to recognize the reward after you find the corresponding crate.

Reveal places before judging an area complete

Crates remain hidden under fog until you drive within 200 m. Cabins are visible on the in-game map, and reaching one for the first time clears fog within 400 m and reveals some nearby places.

Use a cabin as a local search base, then examine the surrounding routes. A blank area early in exploration can simply contain undiscovered places. Do not count an unvisited section as cleared because no crate marker is visible yet.

Cabins also fully repair the vehicle and refill tool slots. That makes them useful preparation points before returning to difficult ground, even when the cabin itself is already checked off.

Keep reward checks separate from route checks

A missing cosmetic can help identify which listed reward to look for, but the reward table does not provide a driving order. It also does not establish which versions fit every vehicle. Finding a crate and equipping its cosmetic are separate steps.

  1. Pick the area where your crate checklist is incomplete.
  2. Compare your discovered count with that area's total.
  3. Explore the remaining fog near usable routes and cabins.
  4. Record a crate after opening it rather than after merely spotting its marker.
  5. Keep a note of the area and reward when matching the lists above.

Crates are one-time rewards

Opening a crate is not a repeatable Pebble method. The October 16 repeat-reward fix applies to Challenge Trails and Recovery Missions; it does not establish that crates can be opened repeatedly for more currency.

Do not confuse possible meteorite spots with crate locations either. Crates are fixed discoveries, while meteorites can occupy possible landing spots. Searching an empty meteorite marker will not advance a missing-crate checklist.

Exact paths to the remaining crates in Emerald Lake, Gimli Ridge, Asgard Mountain, and Tassili n'Ajjer Desert are not established on this page. The totals above help identify the unfinished area, but they cannot identify your final missing crate without its location data.
